College and Form 6 - What’s the different?

After 5 years of secondary school education, we either move on to Lower and Upper Six or enter Colleges or Universities (that’s call tertiary education), depending on our parents’ financial income. There are some courses such as Engineering and Medical field requires Form 6 or A-levels studies.

I believe that going to Form 6 can be a waste of time since I’ve already know what I want to study. Basically Form 6 education is equivalent to foundation in college. Just that in college you could complete the foundation course in approximately a year instead of 2 years in Form 6. Of course, the fees are much more expensive because we got to pay for the registration, lecturers, facilities and modules. The best thing is that you can wear whatever you want instead of school uniforms. It’s not a bad thing to wear school uniforms because sometimes we just couldn’t decide what to wear to everyday. There are many pros and corns between the both of them.

No doubt the lectures are more qualify and well paid in colleges and universities. They too have to keep up the standard in order to produce good students. They have to maintain the quality because they are paid to lecture.

In school, we still have to abide the school’s rules. But I didn’t say we don’t have to in college and universities. The rules in school can be rather silly and irritating at times. “Some people say rules are meant to be broken. – From my point of view, having rules and regulations isn’t that bad after all, the world would be in chaos if there aren’t any. Don’t you think so?

Driving

As a new diver on the road, it’s good to take advice from the experience driver like our parents. They are the one that have encountered many incident and situation on the road. So often we tend to think that we know better as a beginner, we’re not aware that when our elderly corrects our mistakes is for our own good and they are worried about our safety.

Prepare to face mad drivers on the road that are speeding, cutting lanes and flashing lights. What’s the point of speeding when you will still be able to reach the destination; it’s just the matter of departing early. You will probably end up causing more accidents to innocence drivers, not knowing that you still have loved ones that cares you.

Everything that we learned during our driving theory and practical session should be put into practice. For example, putting signal to alert the back drivers where you want to turn, leaving gap between cars to avoid accident, often check the side and front mirror to avoid being too close to cars. I’m sure no one enjoys the long hour of lecture at the driving centre. Cause I don’t. But I come to realise that we need to get to know something in order to understand it. It’s the same with studies.

Many accidents on the road are cause by reckless drives. I would label them as “unprofessional drivers. A "professional driver" will always ensure of the safety of others passengers and drivers on the road. Safety first!

Playing With Feelings

So often we let our emotions and feelings takes over us. We tend to go overboard and end up getting ourselves hurt. Sometimes, we wish situation were different so that we could get the things we wanted. Everyone has their own wants and none of our wants can be fulfilled. The world is never a fair place to live, life isn’t fair at all, and no one says it is.

Having feelings for someone is very normal, but expecting him or her to feel the same in return is beyond our control.

It takes an hours to know a person;
It takes a day to like a person;
It takes a week to love a person;
And it takes a lifetime to forget a person whom has touched your heart.

It’s just a temporary thing – caught in the act. It tears us apart to know that the person that we have love couldn’t be with us.

I’m a very emotional and sensitive person in many ways. Very often I played with my feelings and get myself hurt. It’s hard to forget something that has happen in the past. I tend ponder and question why things were meant to be to that way. It does troubles me sometimes, knowing that things didn’t happen just like that. The memories will kept on replaying in my mind. I guess I should learn to let my past go; only sweet memories will stays forever…

My Gift

I got my driving license on 5th of June 2003 and I can honestly tell you that I did not bribe to get my driving test passed. After a year of waiting, my dad finally got me a second-hand four wheel drive Kembara under my own name. It’s not so much whether it is brand new, but I’m glad that he bought me a car.

Some people say having a car is a luxury. Not everyone could effort to get a car so easily. There are so many people around us who still do not own a car and they have to take public transport to get them around.

Treasures

Over the past few years I’ve been keeping all the letters that been sent by friends, love ones and pen-pals. It brings back sweet memories just by going through them and remembering the old days. Reflecting on how thoughtful friends were and being able to communicate through snail mail. Letters and mails are something we can keep for years. Unlike e-mail, it doesn’t seem as special as personally receiving something from someone.

Being able to take the initiative and time to write a card or mail to someone really mean more than a simple e-mail. You spend some time to express your feelings in decorating and choosing the card and envelop. It is something deeper than just writing, it comes from the heart.

Leaving Foot Prints

Everyone plays a role in our daily life. You meet people everywhere but the only people that leave foot prints in your life are the one you know well.

Getting to know someone is like opening a bank account. You can visit them as often as possible (or in another word, keeping in touch), create good and bad memories (just like your identity report) or withdraw and close the account (meaning abandon it forever). If you see that someone everyday but couldn’t make the effort to make the first move. It’s just like passing by a bank but you couldn’t bother to open an account. Am I making any sense here?

I believe friends only cross path us once, you either treasure the friendship or you will never have it. It always takes courage to make the first move and it take both parties to maintain the relationship.

Everything that happens in our circle of life is not an accident. Could it be fate? No. I would say it’s either a blessing or a curse. Things happen for some reason and it’s not for us to judge.

Whatever things that happens in my life either good or bad, I’m glad it happened. Cause I’ve been blessed by it. Thank you for leaving foot prints. *smile*

A Day To Be Remembered

Congratulation to my cousin and his family!

Today, my cousin’s wife delivered a daughter and she will be called my niece and I will be her aunt. The age gape between the both of us is 18 years apart. It’s such a great joy to welcome another member to the family. She is simply adorable. I’m sure she will grow up to be a fine lady someday.

A famous celebrity is sharing the same birthday as her and he is Prince William Arthur Philip Louis, born in June 21, 1982.

Expressing Our Feelings

So often we hide our feelings from others. Especially when we’re sad, depress, or in love. Every one of us has different personality and character. Some people like to express their opinion and some would prefer to keep it to themselves.

What we don’t realise is that not everyone can accept what we have to say, not everyone would react the way we want them to. Always think twice before voicing your opinion or feelings. If that someone isn’t open-minded or just don’t like what you have to say, he or she might just turn you off, worst may even cut you off totally. When I say that, I meant ignoring. Words can either heal or kill a person.

I usually tell someone how I feel about them openly, but often people just couldn’t take it and would end up ignoring me for years. This probably can mean that he or she might not want to get hurt again or do not want to give me the wrong impression. If I’m not interested in something, I would hint and not say a word. I understand that when someone likes you and if you’re not interested, the first human reaction would be ignoring that person. I can be like that sometime, but that’s just me. But I’m grateful that at least he or she tells me. At times, I can be straight forward. Whether you like it or not.

I believe that having friends are better than making enemies. We can’t please everyone and don’t expect your friends to satisfy your needs.

Working Out

Every weekend is the time when I am less occupied and recently my mum and I had signed up a one year programme at Philip Wain Fitness Centre which is located at Millennium Tower, Damansara. If you’re considering of going to a slimming centre to get your fat and calories burn, then think again! Imagine you could exercise to build up your stamina and increase your metabolic rate while at the same time burning calories and fat. This may take a longer period to be able to see visible results compare to slimming, but what some people do not realised is that by working out, one will have live a healthier body compared to those who don’t.

Fat are easy to put on but harder to be remove. With the all latest technology available world wide, people nowadays could easily lose weight by following a diet or a slimming programme. But I don’t think the prices we pay are worth while. Just imagine, how are you going to maintain your body shape once you’re slim? Will you get yourself to work up or end up going back to the centre? Today’s slimming centre are robbing us woman by making us think that we should be slim in order to look beautiful. Yes, it is important to look good on the outside, but is it worth while investing in something which you will end up spending more to get maintenance?

Welcome back!

It's been a long time since I last updated the website.

I was away for 2 months on student exchange programme to Italy. This programme is organised by Antara Budaya, formally known as America Field Service (AFS).

The motive of this programme is to enable Malaysians to explore and experience the culture from other part of the world. During your journey to a foreign country, you will learn to be self-independent, open-minded, mature and sociable. Countries like Japan, France, Italy, Spain and other non-English speaking countries may require you to pick up their national language. While you’re overseas, Asian food are expensive and hard to find, especially if you’re living in a small town. To read more, please visit “2 Months in Italy. If you think you’re interested on going for this culture exchange programme, forms are made available by calling Antara Budaya’s office at (603)-79575403.
