You know what blogging is? Not many people do. It's short for web log. It's an online journal where people write what they do and thought of the entire day.

Nowadays, everyone I know have their own blog. One after another, I see them start writing. Even people that know nothing about web design are way better off than I am right now, especially the one with graphic designing skills. I'm so left behind.

Being able to read someone else's writing can be interesting because everyone has their own unique style of writing. With pictures that paint a thousand words to their well written English vocabulary. We don't have to read a well written story to improve our English. A simple and well written blog that applies to reality have a better impact to our English. Being able to blog doesn't means your English have to be good. It's just you and your blog. No one care whether your English is grade A or grade D. As long as you have something to write, they will surely come back for more. Don't you agree?

I dislike reading plain blog with text. Adding pictures, dialogs and other styles or theme will definitely attracts visitors. A website with plain black and white or just 2 colours layout may bore the readers. While using too contrasting or bright colours may strain the eyes. Text shouldn't run across the entire screen but paragraphed into a narrower column. With just a few words per line, it's easier to read. Just keep it neat.

Classmates (Part 2)

For breakfast, foods that are that are prepared are rather light. There are noodles, "nasi lemak", fried rice, cakes, buns, burger and more. As for lunch hours, mixed rice are available along with side dishes. Cold and hot beverage can be order. Ice-creams are available too. Usually the canteen is packed during lunch hours when students take a break after hours of lecture. They are some that wouldn't mind taking trouble to drive all the way to Sri Petaling (not that the place is far). And you know what? APIIT was voted the best cafeteria in TPM.

One of the Fridays, group 2 for Malaysian Studies was supposed to present a slide "UMNO and MCA". Sad to say, the lecturer wasn't please with it. On the same day was also the due date for Business Environment's assignment and some groups haven't even finished half of it. *sigh*

Don’t be surprise if you do happen to see guys with big appetite. Cause they do!

The cafeteria during breakfast is usually empty and the glass door on the right is the "Social Space" which just a week ago.

As peak hour approached, the cafeteria slowly became more and more crowded.

"I'm concentrating here. Please do not disturb." It can be frustrating to do last minutes work.

Getting help from friends is the best thing to do if you come across difficulties in studies and work.

Students are expected to dress smart during presentation. Every group members got to take turns to present or else marks will be deducted. It's all about team work.

TV3's Sure Heboh carnival

From July 30-August 1, 2004, TV3 organized a tax free carnival at Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. It was lunch break on Friday, 3 friends and I decided to spend some time outside the college. We were all hoping to get our hands on some free stuff. In fact we did. "A can of Nestle's Ice-lemon tea or Excel, anyone?" One booth gave out drinks for free before 3pm that day. Since it was the first day of the carnival, it wasn't that crowded. Saw many items selling at very reasonable prices.

Believe it or not, you can actually select any 2 items from the same stall for only RM15.

Here are some funky looking t-shirts. Don't you think the display looks good?

These shoes were sold at very low prices, as little as RM99 per pair. Probably imported from China or something. Limited range of designs, though.

Look! Awesome jerseys. They look very original to me and the quality seems alright.

Colourful but lukewarm popsicles. When I was a school kid, I used to buy these at RM0.20 per stick.

Web Design

Things like setting a website is so much easier compared to years back then. There were no such application call Microsoft FrontPage nor Macromedia Dreamweaver. One of the easiest tools to create a web page is the “do-it-yourself functions that are widely available online. Of course there are disadvantages such as not being able to add extra features to your site. Beginners usually like to use those free backgrounds, MIDIs and icons on the internet. That's how I started web design.

The first tool that I use was Microsoft Publisher, which is so outdated now. Then I was introduced to Microsoft FrontPage and Adobe Photoshop by a friend. He taught me everything that is to know about web design, from creating a web page from scratch to understanding the application. Nothing was simple. It's just a matter of picking up tips here and there from web designers around.

Having a good navigation web page is very important. A web page with too many stuff loading at the same time will put visitors away. Another friend of mine taught me about keeping images small and loading fast. He also taught me how upload files using FTP program.

Then another friend of mine taught me about creating good layouts and using frames. She was really good at graphic design and was my inspirations. I was amased by what people can come out with by using computer. The results are far more beautiful than what I can imagine compared to painting itself.

Recently my close friend taught me how to take and edit photos which is one of the important things if anyone considering publishing photos on the web. Everyone can take photos but not everyone is good at it. He said a good photo is better off without using flash which it will creates an unnatural look.
