Fashion Show at One Utama

I went to 1-Utama with my dearest to catch the fashion show in conjunction with KL Fashion Week 2005. We were there for the following fashion show:

12.30pm – 1.00pm Lewre
1.30pm – 2.00pm Tangoo
2.30pm – 3.00pm Balo
3.30pm – 4.00pm Elle
4.30pm – 5.00pm Miss Selfridge

The models were Andrew’s Models. Hair stylist by Russell Salon and official make up sponsors by Shu Uemura.

I can’t deny the fact that Andrew’s Models were slim, tall and gorgeous.

I won this brown leather keychain from Lewre by answering a question given by the MC.

My dearest took this shot I went up the stage. I would have gotten the RM100 shopping voucher from Lewre if I went up earlier because there weren’t many people around during the first show.

Misfortune

I managed to get hold on 2 7 days passes to California Fitness which located at Midvalley. My dearest wasn’t keen on going to gym, so I decided to bring my college mate instead. We went there right after my evening shift.

Before entering the gym, we had an hour of consultation on ways to life a healthy life and mention that I need to put on some weight. At the same time, they were promoting their membership packages and said 28th April was their last day offer. I wasn’t knee to join the gym, one, it’s very inconvenient to get there and two, I wasn’t knee to spend so much money because I might not be able to commit myself to go every week. After the consultation, they issued us 7 days VIP membership each with our name and membership number printed on the back.

The place wasn’t spectacular probably because it wasn’t fully renovated. The additional things they had there was the single basketball court, swimming pool and a hot tub.

This is how it looks like on the outside.

The place to collect towels. One bath and face towel were provided so we need not to bring any.

The lockers in the ladies. Lockers were left open if it’s not in use.

This is how the locker looks like. Using a combination of 4 digits as our password.

----------

Before doing any work out, we were advised to do to stretching. We did our work out on the treadmill for half and hour and did height lifting after that. Knowing that they have a swimming pool, I brought my swimming gear along. My college mate who is a swimmer taught me how to swim. The last time I swam was ages ago. The swimming suit I had was bought long ago and it still fit me perfectly. I know nothing about swimming. All I know is how stay afloat in water. Haha… I used to learn swimming from my aunt for a few days and that was when I was a kid. After swimming, we dipped ourselves in the hot tub before taking our shower.

After shower, we were getting ready to go home when my college mate found out that his wallet was missing. He searched the locker and the gym several times and there was still no sign of it. I felt terrible that this had happened to him because if it wasn’t for me, he wouldn’t have lost his wallet. That’s not just it, his wallet contain RM400+ cash, ATM cards, IC, driving licence, Touch n Go card, insurance card, electricity and water bill. The cash included the money he had earned from last month and his housemates’ money for the electricity and water bill. It is very troublesome to lose a wallet, imagine all the hassles one has to go through. The parking ticket was also in his wallet and we had to fill in forms and get a replacement ticket. California Fitness was helpful enough to issue an accident report for my college mate but there was nothing they can do. The cleaners that were on duty have already left and no one has returned any missing wallet to them. We were told that we could keep our valuable stuff in a safety locker which is located next to their server counter. We weren’t told there was such locker in the first place. If we were informed early, this wouldn’t have happened.

The worst thing is that, so happened that the following day is his birthday, 29th April. Sigh. What a way to start to celebrate a birthday. I honestly felt terrible for him. I really am.

After we left Midvalley, I drove my friend to Pandan Indah police station to make police report. It was passed midnight and we still haven’t taken our dinner yet. The police that was in charge told us that we need to get the report stamped the next day because the counter had closed. So much hassle. We only had our dinner after that. By time I reached home, it was almost 2 in the morning. My mum was seriously worried about me coming home late.

Trainees In Action

This is the first week of training for the trainees. I managed to get to know some of them but I can’t remember all their names yet.

We seniors taught and guided the trainees as we carry out our duties. The trainees came in for duties on different shifts and I had to repeat the same procedures to every one of them over again. I realised by teaching the trainees, it helps me to refresh what I had learned before. The Technical Assistant who was on Quality Check brought trainees to the library and classrooms to demonstrate the steps to check the PCs as well as ways to troubleshoot problems. While another Technical Assistant tough the trainees on how to ghost a PC using disk-to-disk and peer-to-peer. And the list goes on.

My current PC is only running on 256MB RAM. Maybe I should consider upgrading my RAM to 512MB or 1GB.

Panasonic - Ideas For Life

Panasonic was at college today to promote their latest beauty care product. I was there snapping photos, as usual. Then one of them approached me and offered to try the Ionity Hair Straightener on my hair. The experts weren’t there so I ended up being their guinea pig.

Various beauty care product. Eyebrow Styler. Manicure System. Lady Shaver.

Ionity Hair Straightener.

How negative ions work?
In general hairs are easily positively charged after washed. By exposing hair to negative ions, moisture penetrates each and every strand of hair. These negative ions also coat the air and help it maintain its moisture content. Negative ions also neutalized static electricity and thus enhance the hair's balance.

After testing it on my hair, I realised it wasn’t as it said to be. My hair was rather dry the next day. Sigh.

Ikano Power Center

A friend of mine invited me for dinner at Shrudels Ikano Power Center. Shrudels is similar to Secret Recipes Restaurant. Shrudels have been around for about 3 years and currently they are a few outlets in Klang valley.

I was told that their cakes are much richer compared to those at Secret Recipes. Haven’t tasted one myself though.

----------

After dinner at Shrudels, we went window shopping at Ikea. As usual, I was admiring those designer furniture and wish they were mine. Who can resist designer furniture? Ikea have lots of unique furniture that cannot be found in normal furniture outlets. Their furniture is designed as such to store many items and save space at the same time. It is ideal for people who live in condominiums or apartment.

I managed to take few snapshots without being caught.

Saw this sign on a toilet bowl. I won’t be surprise to find things in the bowl if it wasn’t for the sign. Yeah, I know. It’s gross!

2 years guarantee on clocks? I don’t see that often.

Lovely bedroom. Love the Treble clef light on the wall.

The mattress section. This was one of the comfortable ones. The others were either too soft or too hard.

The ladies. I haven’t been to the gents but would think its similar. Hehe... :P

First Day of Third Semester

3 weeks of holidays have now come to an end. My third semester starts today and I will be taking 4 modules this term. There are Quantitative Methods for Business & IT, Business Organisation, Moral Studies and Problem Solving & Program Design Using C. The subjects that I need to pay more attention to are Quantitative Methods for Business & IT and Problem Solving & Program Design Using C for both requires lots of practice and understanding, while Business Organisation and Moral Studies are mainly theories and principles that can be apply in reality.

First day of classes are rather boring because lecturers usually give us a brief introduction of what to be taught and learn in the weeks and months to come. So lectures only begin on the second day of classes. From personal experience, lecturers tend to be strict and serious on the first day. Like everyone said, first impression counts.

In our first semester, we had this lecturer that is serious and does not take jokes at all. Whenever someone cracks a joke or starts to talk, that lecturer tend to use this sentence “That’s not funny. If you do that one more time, I will submit your name to the disciplinary board. I’ve done this to student before.” This is one of the first impressions a lecturer gave us.

Complimentry Meal

2 weeks after stating my dissatisfaction entry on Flamin’ J, the director himself contacted me and offered two personal invitations for me and a friend to dine with them. I don’t get these opportunities very often. It’s like raining gold. I think such opportunities are rare. I got all excited and told my friends that I went with the last time.

Only 2 invitations, who should I bring? Well, eventually I brought my dearest there. We meet the director himself and had a good chat during dinner. He ordered 2 mushroom soups, 2 yogurt fruits juice (pineapple and mango), 1 beefsteak, and a lamb stew for us. My personal favourite was the mushroom soup and lamb stew.

He mentioned that we would be his food testers in future. Whenever they launch a new products, we will be the first to try.

Beefsteak.

Half eaten lamb stew with garlic bread. It tasted so good that I’ve forgotten to snap a photo of it before eating. Ha ha!

Hey, why not drop by Flamin’ J Firehouse someday. :)

Jungle Trekking

I missed my work out at gym today because I went to college in the morning. I told my dearest that I would like to jog up the Kiara jungle track as promised. So there we were. The offroad track is 2km in total. After the first round, I was challenged to take another. But half way through, I did not have the energy to go on and my dearest had to push me from the back while going up hill. Going down hill was so much easier. His brother came along with us. He was very energetic and was way ahead of us. Obviously I was the slow turtle there. I still prefer jogging on flat ground instead of going up and down hills offroad. It hurts my legs jogging up and down hill.

By the time I finished 4km, I was very tired but glad that I managed going the entire distance. On the way to the car, I was shouting “Yeah! We are going home! We are going home!” My dearest sarcastically replies, “Yeah! Home!” Overall, it was a good workout.

There’s only one way in and one way out to this Kiara track. Once you're halfway in, there's no shortcuts out. The track was supposedly made for the KL mountain bike carnival 2004.

Inter College Cyber Game

I was there with my dearest in the morning just to check out the event. The crowd wasn’t as big as I expect it to be. Most of the people that turn up were participate. I went there just to check out the place, not to mention to snap photos too. California Fitness was there and I managed to get a 7 days passes to the gym by just filling up a form. I doubt I will be using the passes since going MidValley is a hassle. Many goody bags contain 128MB memory cards and thumb drive were given out on that day itself. All you have to do is it answer few simple questions given by the deejays and the goody bag is yours for the taking. I managed to grap a free privilege card from Video Ezy.

Inter College Cyber Game Competition Preparations

I was working 4 shifts in college today and as early as 2pm there were vendors and workers setting up the place for tomorrow ICCG competition. 60 PCs were sponsored for the competition. The ICCG committees were running all over the place, busy preparing the place. I was told that they will be staying as late as midnight to ensure that everything run smoothly for tomorrow competition. Although this is the first time that the college organising an event such as this, I personally think that the whole event was not well organised.

I came down to the foyer to snap some photos half an hour before I was off duty. Besides, much help was needed in the Exhibition Hall during that hour. If I had not been nosing around, I would have missed the Hitz.fm cruisers and my chance of getting those freebies. Haha...

These people were at the campus ever since in the afternoon to set up the balloons. I find it rather fascinating to watch them setting up those balloons. They make it seems so easy.

Honestly, the guy wasn’t happy when I point my camera at him.

Un-crimped cables.

These are the tools to crimp network cables.

Samsung monitors were sponsored for the ICCG competition. They were brand new monitors.

The Hitz.fm cruisers dropped by the campus and gave out free goodies such as Coke Light, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf vouchers, xXx: The Next Level movie passes, Double A goody bag, Malaysia Today Newspaper, hitz.fm CD freebie, car sticker and a notepad.

XFresh was the official radio station for the ICCG Competition.

New Computers

60 brand new Dell PCs have been bought for the Cooperate Training usage. These PCs is running on Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor with Hyper-Threading Technolgy. It has 80GB hard disk and 1GB DDR, along with 17" Flat Panel Monitor. Wow! The advantage of being a Technical Assistant is that you get to know the hip and happening things around in college, not to mention being the first to use them. Haha... ;)

Look at all the boxes of PCs stacking up in the workshop. Don't look that the blue and white boxes. They are dot matrix papers.

Keyboards, mouse and power cables.

Mouse pads and CDs that came along with the PCs.

The actually PC.

The new Dell PCs are placed in level 2 where the Masters’ room is. These PCs were given to the Masters’ room for several reasons. Firstly, the Masters’ students paid a very high fee and therefore they deserved to use better PCs. Secondly, by placing permanent PCs in the Masters’ room, Technical Assistants that are doing ETR on each week will no longer need to move PCs from level 3 to level 2. And thirdly, it’s for standardization.

These are Dell servers. These servers will be used in the new campus in Subang in years to come.

----------

These are the lab PCs. All together there are 5 labs in the campus and each lab has 30 PCs.

Out For Movie

An old friend of mine who came back from Singapore months ago after completing his A-Level called me up for movie at MidValley on Wednesday. Since both of us are working, the only best time we could meet up is after work, which is around evening.

I met him at Golden Screen Cinema at half past 7. An hour before the movie starts, we had our dinner at a Korean Restaurant (I can’t remember the name) at Ground Floor. During dinner, we talk about the usual stuff – life, work, books, movie, philosophy and etc. Basically just to catch up with us other and have a good time chat.

We watched James Lee's Beautiful Washing Machine. I don't usually do this, but this friend of mine enjoys watching International Screens' movies. This movie reminds me of Sofia Coppola's Lost in Translation. There were limited dialogs and the storyline is hidden beneath the silent. These types of movie are not my cup of tea. I can be put to sleep easily if I were to watch it alone.

TA's New Intake

Finally, 18 Probation Technical Assistants have successfully made it through 1 interview and 2 reviews. Now it’s the time for us seniors to give them training and feed them as much knowledge as possible. This new batch has 2 girls while my batch had 4 girls (but only 3 of us got in).

Today was the first meeting for the new batch. The Lab Chief, Assistant Lab Chief and the head of each department gave a brief introduction to the new Technical Assistants on the procedures done during duties as a Technical Assistant. Furthermore, each of us was to take turns to introduce ourselves to everyone in the general meeting. And my mentor made me give a long speech which I wasn’t prepare to do so. Not sure whether did my face turn red or not but my voice was vibrating. My mentor embarrassed me in front of the juniors. :( Frankly speaking, I still very much afraid of public speaking.

SMS'ng

I went to college for night duty after I sent my friend home. It seems that they were lack of hand and one of the Technical Assistant has been working the whole day alone (except for morning’s first shift). One-man-show, eh? He’s now known as the “destroyer”, the "D-I-Y" guy and the “one-man-show” guy. Hehe...

There were only 3 of us on night shift.

I was in jeans and t-shirt when I arrived at college. Everyone around gave me a funny stare because I was wearing my Technical Assistant tag while doing Quality Check for the classrooms. It’s seriously against the rules for a Technical Assistant who is on duty and not wearing proper attire. For your information, APIIT is the only college that required students to wear formal/working attire.

As you know, the person on Quality Check usually works alone. I was seriously bored sitting in the classrooms while waiting for each program to load. So I browsed through my phonebook and decided to send short messages to my friends that I have not spoken for a while. I sent to 19 friends and received 7 replies and a call.

Sigh. Probably some thought I was spamming their mailbox with those fancy messages. Hey, I wrote it myself!!! Honestly, I was having mixed feelings at that very moment, happy that some did reply and disappointed that majorities choose to ignore it. Oh well. This is life anyway, can’t expect much, huh.

This is what I wrote:
"Just dropping a message to say that I thought of you few minutes ago. *smile* :) Hope you have a blessed week ahead. God bless."

And here are the replies that I've received:

---

"I know U R So-So-So-B-U-S-Y-But... plz tk... 3 seconds 2 tink of me
..1..
..2..
..3..
Thanx 4 missing me! I miss u!"

You miss me? Oh, that's so sweet of you. :)

---

"Really? I was actually dealing w friendship issue yesterday... and now i receive such a touching sms =) thx... God bless u too"

Cool! Guess God does work in miraculous ways.

---

"That is sweet. Thankz! I will be having an exam tmr. Will be needing your prayers too... You take care ya. Will be keeping in touch. Emmanuel."

All the best to your exam, friend.

---

"I thought of you last sunday. You forgot my birthday!"

Oops, I've forgotten about her birthday!!! Thousand apology...

---

"Hey, hope u have a blessed week as well, God bless ya sis!"

*Grin* :)

---

"thank u for your thoughtfulness celine =) God bless u n ur week too"

*Grin* :)

---

"Very sweet of you. Since you so nice can I take you out for a date on Thursday?"

Are you serious? Oh, but I'm occupied this Thursday. Too bad. :(

---

Those messages did make me

*SMILE* ;)

Day Out

I went out with a dear friend of mine whom has been very supportive and have encouraged me over the years in my studies and my walk in Christ. The last time we meet up was on my 17th birthday, which is 2 years ago. We do bump into each other during church events or on rare occasion.

I volunteered to pick him up from his place which I roughly recalled since my mum last drove him back years ago. His place wasn’t difficult to locate because I was pretty familiar with that area ever since I was a kid. The problem I had when I reached there was that I could located every single streets but the street to his house was no where to be found. Sigh. Malaysian signboards. Eventually I have to call him to ask for direction.

We drove to MidValley and bought afternoon tickets for Sahara. Before the movie start we had lunch at Sushi King. I recalled the last time I ate Sushi was about a year ago. I still think Sushi King serves the best Sushi around.

After lunch, we dropped by California Fitness to have a look. The gym is rather small compared to Celebrity Fitness at 1-Utama. I was told that the gym is currently under renovation and will be launching somewhere in June this year (if I’m not mistaken). The membership fees were comparatively highly than other gym that I’ve walk-in to, probably due to Jackie Chan being part of the California Fitness shareholder. That explains why Jackie Chan appears in most of their advertisement. California Fitness will be opening 8 more clubs by 2008.

We left the gym 5 minute before the show start. The movie was about treasure hunters searching for treasures which is similar to National Treasure, just that there were more actions involved in it.

After the movie, we went to Secret Recipe for cakes.

My friend ordered Frozen Orange Cheese. Smooth, creamy cheese with orange favour. Yummy.

I had Brownies With Ice Cream. Man, this is so sinful. I shouldn’t be eating this. But I have to admit that I'm love it. Haha... :P

Blessing in Disguise

A day spent lazing at home with 4 appointments canceled.

Today, I supposed to go Sunway Pyramid with my college friend for ice-skating but I canceled the trip because an old friend of mine told me that he could meet up with me on this day. It turns out that he forgotten that he had agreed to meet up with his friends. That’s 2 appointments canceled.

Alright, I made another appointment with my ex-college mates. Unfortunately one of them couldn’t turn up so we decided to cancel the meeting. Now that’s already 3 appointments canceled.

While I was online a friend messaged me and said that he was on MC because he wasn’t feeling well. I told him that I could drop by his place for a visit but after 4 hours of dragging, we decided not to meet up.

Sigh. What a day.

So I ended up napping and watched First Daughter on DVD in the evening.

Not too bad, huh. I managed to get some rest after yesterday long day at work.

Foreign Friends

This guy is from France. He’s currently pursuing his Masters and working part-time at the same time. He’s very friendly and also a nice chap to talk to.

This is my classmate. He came all the way from Nigeria, he also our class rap. At times, we find it difficult to understand him because of his strong Nigerian accent. Yup, we’re posing here.

Cousins' Day Out

It’s been a while since I last meet up with my cousin brother. I still recall the old days we used to play together when we were kids and shared personal thoughts and feelings during our high school years. Time flies. This coming July, he will be pursuing his studies in Australia for a long as one and a half year.

Since college started, we do not have much time to chat or hang out as we used to. Guess everyone gets busier as they grow older. That’s the same goes with me.

We tend to meet new people as we move on in life, but only true friends remain close to our heart.

----------

We drove to Berjaya Times Square and watch Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous. The movie wasn’t that spectacular. I think the first one was better. Should have watch Robots instead.

We had lunch at a Hong Kong restaurant and later went to Low Yat to get a network card for my cousin’s PC. Apparently he forgot to unplug the telephone line during thunder storm. As a result both modem and network card got burned.

I managed to take few shots of him despite the fact that he doesn’t like to be photographed.

CD Player

My dad called me while I was at work yesterday and mentioned something about changing the car radio. Deep inside I was jumping for joy because I did not expect to get a new radio.

Guess what? It’s not just a CD player. It’s a 6 changeable CDs player. Wow! I did not see that coming. I thought eventually I will have to get one myself. I was told that the radio was from my uncle’s old car.

This definitely got to be God’s blessing. :)

Ouch! My finger...

After calling my dad, I told him I will be at the workshop in 10 minutes. I was rushing time and accidentally cut my finger with the blade. For your information, this blade is used to shave eyebrows. It can be used a shaver too.

This is what happened. I wasn’t holding the tip of cap with my finger as I always do. When I take off the cap, not realising the blade was facing my finger, I accidentally slashed my finger.

Ouch! My finger!!! My finger!!! I did not move my finger as I saw blood flowing out of the wound. Its hurt real bad when I move the finger slightly.

A reminder to all: Do not play with sharp object.

Exotic Pet

An iguana was found wondering around at my dearest front yard somewhere last year. It was about 2 feet when both of his brothers found it. We think that the iguana belongs to someone else since it was well fed and tame. It’s definitely can’t be from the wild. Or maybe it could be.

This iguana ended up being their pet because no one came to claim it. They did not know what to call it, so they just name it Igy, a short term for iguana.

After months of caring and feeding, the iguana has now grown as long as 4 feet, slightly less. An iguana this size can worth up to RM600+ or even more, depending on its size.

Iguana is an exotic pet and its required lots of care. It can be costly to rare a species like this because it required proper diet and UVB lights or natural sunlight to digest its food. Iguana does not bite because it is 100% vegetarian.

I think Igy look very distinguish. Don't you agree?

Exploring New Streets

I’ve been going out quite often lately, most of the time going out with friends and ended up driving to places that I’m not familiar with. I would think it’s good to explore around Kuala Lumpur. I’m seriously lousy at remembering streets’ name but I have a good sense of direction after going to a place once or twice.

For the last few days, I’ve been exploring around Kuala Lumpur town, Petaling Jaya and a small part of Sunway. I managed to discover new streets by taking a few wrong turns. Not too good bad though. Haha... ;)

*Feeling so proud of myself*

Ice-Skating

I went ice-skating with my dearest at Sunway Pyramid. This is our first time skating on ice. The entrance fee is RM16 on weekends and RM13 on weekdays. I have to admit that skating on ice isn’t as easy as I thought. After skating for several rounds, we managed to get the hang of it. I fell 4 time of the ice and hurt my buttocks and my palms. By trying to save my pants from getting wet, I fell backwards with my palm supporting my back. As a result, I injured my palm. After ice-skating, I was aching all over and ended up with bruises. Yeah, I had fun. It was a completely different sport altogether. No doubt it is costly.

My dearest suggested that we go there once a week. :)

----------

We left Sunway Pyramid at 6.30pm and drove back to Cheras for dinner at Nurbilal Restaurant. I love the cheese naan there. Mmmm...

My dearest and I. He looks very tired here after a long day.

City Touring

My friend and I went city touring. We went to KLCC, Putrajaya, The Curve and KL Tower. Had a long day but I enjoyed the trip. Here are some photos taken during the trip.

It’s been a while since I last came to KLCC. Most of the places have been renovated, including the toilet. This is the ladies’ by the way.

We took the lift to the Skybridge at level 41 which is 170m above street level. The length of the Skybridge is 58.4m.

----------

After KLCC, we stopped at Putrajaya. We visited Dataran Putra, Putra Mosque, Botanical Garden and Putrajaya Convention Center. It was cloudy during the afternoon and rain was expected.

Next, we drove to The Curve at Bandar Utama. It was raining by then.

Our last stop was at KL Tower. The entrance fee to KL Tower is RM8 per person.

Half Dead, Need to Recharge

I’ve been working for long hours for the last 3 days and have not been getting sufficient sleep as needed.

My whole body is weak and tired.
I’m feeling very sleepy.
I don’t think I can work any longer.
I need a break...
I need a break...

Yeah!
I won’t be working tomorrow.
Yeah!

Oh wait!
I’m going out tomorrow?
Oh, another long day to come.

*Sigh*
Guess I won’t be getting enough rest.

Server Down Again and Again...

I would like to apologse to all my visitors for not being able to access my website for the past few days. My current server has been having some technical problem lately.

----------

The worst thing that can ever happen to a bloger is losing all his/her archival files, but what annoyed a blogger is when the server is frequently down. After the recent upgrade, the server’s been giving a lot of problem, mainly hardware failure. At times, in order to get the server running again, it can take few hours or even half day.

I’m not complaining about the bandwidth or whether the loading is slow because they both are efficiently fast. My website does not contain much graphics or big files. So, it doesn’t bother me.

----------

A similar situation happened quite frequent where I lived. It’s not about internet connection or computer crashes, but house power failure. This happened more than 10 times last month and my dad was furious because this will leads to more dead fishes in the aquarium due to lack of oxygen.

What I dislike about power failure is that I can’t use the computer, which means I can’t go online. Being an IT student, I can’t live without the computer even just for a day. I remembered the days when I used to attend camps. I kept telling my friends how much I miss my computer and was basically dying to use the computer.

Carelessness

Today many things happened in the level 3 and some can be avoidable.

One of our Technical Assistants accidentally killed 2 power supply boxes by making his own power supply.

Read more about it.

Rearranging hardware in the workshop for hardware preventive maintenance and this how it look like at the moment. I do admit that the current arrangement is comparatively neater and look more spacious than before.

What happened was that, after I generated the P-Counter report and calculate the amount collected at 7.30pm. I realised there was a shortage of RM50. After recalling and checking through all the large sum of printing done by students, I realised that I accidentally return that girl that printed her final year project RM50 by mistake without realising that she gave me RM50 instead of RM100 during one of the payment.

Thank goodness that she was still around and we managed to solve the problem. She admitted that there were extra money in her pocket and was willing to return that extra RM50 sum she has. *Phew* What a relieve.

After my night shift duty, my friends and I went to Steven Corner at OUG for late dinner. The foods over there are seriously good. As for the cheese naan, I still prefer the one baked at the “mamak” near my place. The cheese naan at Steven Corner wasn’t crispy and it tasted like pizza. Besides that, we ordered fried bird and fried fish. Man, those were good but costly.

Meeting Up With Old Friend

I will be having 3 weeks of holidays before my third semester starts. I’m planning to fully utilise it by working and meeting up with old friends. It’s been quite a while since I last hang out with my friends. I really miss the old days when I was less occupied. Now with work, assignment, presentation and studies, I have less time to hang out with friends. I guess friends come and go when we move on. I can’t expect to keep in touch with everyone of them.

----------

I met up with an old friend from All Saints Church. It’s been more than a year since we last met. I still remember the time when we used to attend camps or just hang out for a meal or movie.

We went to Hard Rock Café at Jalan Sultan Ismail for dinner. This is the first time I stepped into Hard Rock Café. The place doesn’t look like any of those Western restaurants that I’ve ever been to. Lovely place, I would say.
The serving portions are all American Size. I find it too much for me. One thing I can’t deny is that the food there taste really good.

After dinner, we went to Cheras Leisure Mall to catch a movie. Wanted to watch Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous but unfortunately we couldn’t make it in time. So ended up watching The Eye 10. I was expecting a horror movie but it turn out to be a horror comedy. I was laughing my head off most of the time.

Photo Shoot - Spotlighting

Had another photo session today. This time we tried hard, narrow and directional lighting to create harsh shadows. It looks like a spotlight. Done using a snoot. Created our own snoot by rolling cardboard over the flash's parabolic reflector. Desired effect was to light a portion of the picture, leaving the others dark.

People usually think that extremely soft and uniform lighting is "safe" lighting, cannot go wrong. But I would personally like to try something different and more creative. Noticed that most bridal studios usually use that sort of lighting and depend on make up artistry and hair styling to make the models look spectacular.

Here are some photos taken in the kitchen and on my desktop.

Pope John Paul II, 1920-2005

Finally at rest after years of crippling disease, Pope John Paul II's body lay in state Sunday, his hands clutching a rosary, his pastoral staff under his arm. Millions prayed and wept at services across the globe, as the Vatican prepared for the ritual-filled funeral and conclave that will choose a successor. – yahoo.com

I personally have not met Pope John Paul II in person. But I was there at Vatican City when he made a speech in front of the crowd from his window in February 2nd, 2004. I could hardly see him clearly from where I was standing because his window was pretty far high up.

Vatican City.

The place where the pope and high priests live. This is only a small part of the building.

At Work

Today is April Fool’s Day. While driving to college, I was listening to Hitz.fm regarding the issues between the Deejays and their management. I was telling myself how a radio station can allow those things to happen and I actually believe that it was true, but it turn out to be a completely April Fool’s joke. Haha...

Starting from today, the printing charge for monochrome printing in Epson lab has now increased from RM0.10 to RM0.15 per page. Where else the printing charge for colour will remind the same. What a silly day to increase the price, people would actually think it’s an April Fool’s joke. Guess not. The notice has been put up a month ago.
