Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa Review

November 9th 2008 · Read More · No Comments

Just over the week, I attended the premiere screening of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, by Nuffnang.

As everyone know that Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa is the second installation of the first movie. After watching the movie, I personally think that this is one of the few movies which second part is better than the first. Well, both of them are equally good actually. For those who have not seen the first Madagascar, that one was pretty good too, especially their theme song “I like to move it“.

In Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, the movie takes us back to how Alex (the lion) ended up in Central Park, New York. And a little flash back of some scenes of how all the four characters - Alex (the lion), Marty (the zebra), Gloria (the hippo) and Melman (the giraffe), first ended up at Madagascar.

While this time, with the help of the penguins they are determine to fly back to New York. But somehow the plan didn’t work out as what they have planned. Their plane crashed and all of them ended up in Africa. Africa may seems like a great place…but is it better than their Central Park home?

Okay, that is just a little part of the movie. Enough of my spoiler, now go grab yourself a movies tickets. You will definitely enjoy it. *Two (2) thumbs up*

For now, do check out the following video clip. As well as their Trailers & Video Clips on yahoo.

I Was That Ulgy Little Kid Who Turned Up At Nuffnang’s Silent Halloween

November 6th 2008 · Read More · Comments(18)

I kid you NOT! Haha…

My Halloween costume (the bloody mummy) was inspired by one of Kev’s photo. To dress up as a mummy, there are several way to source from. You can either rent/purchase those ready made. Or , you can look up on some DIY Halloween costume online. Else, you could easily go to any nearby pharmacy to purchase bandages that look like these…

These bandages come in different length and sizes. There are also two (2) colours to choose from, white or brown (skin colour). The one I used were brown (skin colour) in colour.

Below are some of the items that I used to prepare the whole mummy outfit.

  1. Brown and black poster colour to coloured the bandages - to create the dirty effect by soaking the bandages with coloured water
  2. Black eyeliner - to colour one eye
  3. Thread and needle - to sew the bandages together
  4. A pair of socks
  5. Fake blood
  6. A singlet
  7. A short / tube / boxer (anything that you’re comfortable wearing as bottom)
  8. Bandages (as many as you need. For me, I used up 9 bandages. )

After dying the socks and bandages, there are how they look like. If you want it to be dirtier, add more black to it. Make sure you hang it to dry before putting it on.

I cut holes between the singlet and tube to get the torn and rugged look. While I wrapped the bandages around my body, I sew the bandages onto each other to hold them together instead of using the clips (that came along with the bandage).

Next, don’t forget black colour nails. To make it look creepy. After all, it’s Halloween.

After I’m done with the wrapping. I added fake blood to make it look scary. And smear some black poster colour on some of the skin surface to create the dirty look.

** Note: Because the bandages, socks, tube, singlet are dyed in colour. I had to wash my hands several times as well as mop the floor when I get on and off the washroom.

My Halloween costume was specially prepared for Nuffnang’s Silent Halloween event. The whole costume took me about two (2) days to prepared. It was one of my first Halloween party and I really had a great time dressing up. Well, this is one of the rare occasion where you can dressed up as ugly as you like and no one will call the cop to report you in can walking devil. LOL! Just kidding

At the party, I met few other monsters who were some what like me. Sort of. Just kidding.. :p

Robert, the human-like vampire, whose cries blood tears. Haha… I just made that up.

Ringo, the beautiful Marilyn Monroe.

Here we have Simon a.k.a. Black Jack.

Tarzen?

Klubbkidd a.k.a. Kurt Cobain

And Robb, the rather clean but scary mummy.

I didn’t really get to take many photos that night because most of the time was trying to make sure my bandages do not fall off. LOL.

Camille leads Bond straight to Dominic Greene, a ruthless business man and major force within the mysterious organization.

On a mission that leads him to Austria, Italy and South America, Bond discovers that Greene, conspiring to take total control of one of the world’s most important natural resources, is forging a deal with the exiled General Medrano. Using his associates in the organization, and manipulating his powerful contacts within the CIA and the British government, Greene promises to overthrow the existing regime in a Latin American country, giving the General control of the country in exchange for a seemingly barren piece of land.

I’m Going Silent this Halloween with Nokia XpressMusic

October 8th 2008 · Read More · Comments(16)

Halloween is just around the corner and it got me all excited already. Why? Because this is one of the rare occasions where you can dress as crazy/scary/wild and nobody can say that you’re out of place. It’s just going to be real crazy.

This time around, Nuffnang is throwing a Silent’s Halloween party at Borneo Baruk Club and official sponsored by Nokia. What do you mean by “Silent’s Halloween”? What’s a party without any music or noise? Well, I guess I have to find out on the day of the event. With Nokia XpressMusic, life is always exciting and everyone can express themselves with music no matter how scary or gory they may be this coming Halloween.

Hennessy Artistry

October 4th 2008 · Read More · Comments(2)

Exactly one week ago, I was given invites to Hennessy Artistry - the global art of mixing, at Orange Club. The event featured artists such as Shayne Ward, Until June and the DEY. I’m only going because I’m a fan of Shayne Ward and this is my first time attending Hennessy Artistry as I did not attend the previous one. It’s cool anyway.

We arrived at 9pm and I thought we were late. The crowd only started to came in after 10pm. We bumped into many people that we know, such as bloggers, the photographers (a.k.a. the paparazzi ) and my couch surfer friends. The world is either too small or the event was just too crazy to missed? And to my surprise, I also bumped into two (2) college mates who were working at the event.

There were free flow of Hennessy cocktail - Hennessy Shanghai and Hennessy Miami.

We also made new friends at the event.

And finally, Shayne Ward, the reason why everyone was there at the event. Shayne’s voice was just amazing. It was as good as what you heard on the radio.

Some Things Just Have To Go

September 18th 2008 · Read More · Comments(3)

Mum used to complain about me not getting rid of my old shoes. One of the few reasons why I kept them for so long was because they were very comfortable to wear and I didn’t had another other comfortable shoes which I could wear for hours.

So I finally got rid of them and this gave me more reason to go shopping for new pair of shoes to replace them. And so I did.

Even in life, we got to learn to let go of the old and move on (and change) to something new. Be it bad habits, things that we have kept since childhood, or event things we do not used. When I was a kid, I used to hold on to this blanket of mine for years until it got torn into pieces and I had to throw it away. There was also a teddy bear. It has sentimental value, you know. Well, that was years ago.

My Chinese school teacher once told me that, every festive New Year, people buy new clothes (it’s not a must must la, but they say it’s better) to welcome the New Year. I’m sure some of you have of this. I personally do not follow any of those ritual but I sure wouldn’t mind getting something new each year. Or even each day or each month. LOL! Sigh. Girls just love to shop. *grin*

Anyway… Have you ever kept/hold on to something which you find it hard to let go/get rid?

My Lazy Meal

September 9th 2008 · Read More · Comment(1)

This is what I eat when I’m too lazy to eat out… Salad!

Buy a box of lettuce. They usually come in twos (2).  Then get some dressing. It can be anything - mayonnaise, thousand island, etc. Salad dressings usually come in bottles, but you can get them in small packets if you don’t need that much.

It’s easy to prepare. Just wash and then it’s ready to eat. For lazy people like me.

I bought Balsamic and Japanese dressing, just to try it out.

You can either pour the dressing into a separate bowl to dip or you can pour it over the lettuce. I prefer the first one. Of course, you can always eat the lettuce on its own but it may be a little bitter for your liking.

If you’re ever at Cameron Highland, make sure you drop by the veggie farms. They have plenty of lettuce there.
