All the dresses were arranged before the fashion show.

Got ruumz?

Few weeks ago, I was working for ruumz. Ruumz is pronouce as “rooms” and not the alcohol “ruums” or either the club “Rooms”. For  those who have not heard of ruumz, it is a new social networking website developed by the company who brought you P1 Wimax, the Green Packet. Oh yeah, I’m totally serious.

Ruumz could be best related to other social network such as Facebook, MySpace, Friendster and others which you can name of. But the concept behind ruumz is going to be rather huge, and I would say is one of the best local social network space that anyone have came up with.

Aside from the normal things you can do such as - upload pictures, add friends, update status and etc. You can even check out information on the movies that are screening in Malaysia - showtime, trailers and even write a review for it! That’s not all, ruumz also provide photo printing services and you can get it delivered to your door step for FREE whenever you spend a minimum of RM20 for printings. This means whatever photos that you’ve uploaded to ruumz, you can select them and get it printed. They also offer shipping to all over the world.

And not forgetting, you can also download music from ruumz itself.  By paying a monthly subscrition of RM19.90, you can download music, true tones, ringing tones, etc for 50% off. Meaning, the regular price is RM4 but you get to buy it at RM2 instead. And upon sign up right now, you are entitle to get a free 30 days trial which allow you to download unlimited music for FREE! Yes, you got that right. FREE! And did I tell you they have over 40,000 of music in their database?

Wow! Isn’t that alot of stuff already? Alright, you may ask, so do I need to pay to use this website? Nope, you don’t have to pay a single cent. The website is obsolutely free! You only need to pay to use certain services.

Anyway, for the past few weeks, ruumz have been doing some road shows at varies places such as colleges/universities, clubs/pubs, and even PC fair.

Cool ruumz merchandise were given out during the road shows.

Ruumz have some really interesting tag line which to a certain extent could sound so wrong if you’re underage. Haha… But they are catching, nevertheless.

And everyone’s favourite got to be the pillow and the t-shirts! Well, who wouldn’t fancy having a small pillow when you can have something comfy to lie one when you’re tired during lectures. Hey, I’m not trying to encourage, kay.

And last but not least, the ruumz road show team.

Anyway, why not check out ruumz for more information.

The Easter Story: He Is Alive!

Did you know that today is Good Friday? It is called Good Friday because Christians believe that this is the day when the Son of God has came and died for our sins on the cross of Calvary, and He rose again on the third day. And that’s what an Easter story is all about.

I just got back from Calvary Church musical Easter presentation at Stadium Putra. Although it was raining cats and dogs out there, there stadium was nevertheless filled with crowd. And I was one of them who got wet in the rain before arriving.

The musical consist of singers, dances and actors. And the singers actually sang live and not lip sync, excuse me. It is also good to see that the younger generations are participating in this musical performance. And I mean, people around my age.

For many years, Calvary Church Easter musical presentation has never failed to capture my heart. The actors, choir, lighting, sound systems and the overall presentation were impressive!

The musical presentation will still be on from 8pm tomorrow (11th April) and Sunday (12th April) at Putra Stadium, Bukit Jalil, for those who have missed today’s (10th April). Admission is Free.

So why don’t bring a friend along and be blessed. Have a blessed Easter!

And the following are some of the pictures taking during the musical presentation.

Corntoz Pillow Fight

Last Saturday, on the 4th April was the World Pillow Fight Day. There are over 75 cities around the world participated in this event.

This year, Malaysia is taking part in this event for the very first time! And the event was organised by the same bunch that organised KL Freeze last year - Random Alphabets.

I missed out the KL Freeze event and thought I would check out what’s the pillow fight one is all about.

The meeting point was at the Curve at 4pm and by 4.45pm, all of us move over to the secret location, which is the lower ground of Cineleisure. Not sure what’s the whole point of making people walk from mall to mall? To create awareness? Perhaps.

The whole event happened very quickly, after everyone have arrived at Cineleisure, had a short briefing and everyone started to fight. There were the blue and white team. But people are just there to have some fun, no violent involved.

All together, there were two (2) rounds of fight. And half way through, you could see cottons flying all over the place. And some of them fight till there were none left in their pillow case. Hahaha…

I’m sure those who were there had lots of fun. Although the fight didn’t last very long.

From my observation, the overall attended were merely a hundred (100), but I’m sure next year more will turn out to partake of this event.

And don’t forget to check out the video.

60 Earth Hour

VOTE EARTH
YOUR LIGHT SWITCH IS YOUR VOTE

This year, Earth Hour has been transformed into the world’s first global election, between Earth and global warming.

For the first time in history, people of all ages, nationalities, race and background have the opportunity to use their light switch as their vote – Switching off your lights is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming. WWF are urging the world to VOTE EARTH and reach the target of 1 billion votes, which will be presented to world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009.

This meeting will determine official government policies to take action against global warming, which will replace the Kyoto Protocol. It is the chance for the people of the world to make their voice heard.

Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their lights. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness.

In 2009, Earth Hour is being taken to the next level, with the goal of 1 billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote. Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from. VOTE EARTH is a global call to action for every individual, every business, and every community. A call to stand up and take control over the future of our planet. Over 74 countries and territories have pledged their support to VOTE EARTH during Earth Hour 2009, and this number is growing everyday.

We all have a vote, and every single vote counts. Together we can take control of the future of our planet, for future generations.

VOTE EARTH by simply switching off your lights for one hour, and join the world for Earth Hour.

Saturday, March 28, 8:30-9:30pm.

Global warming is getting worst by the day. One person cannot make a difference. But 25 million people can. Reshmonu and Pete Teo have signed up at www.earthhour.org/malaysia What about you?

He’s So Dead

Last month, I attended the Ironman triathlon at Langkawi. Will post more on that event soon.

Anyway, while Kevin was busy shooting the triathletes, I found something rather interesting on the ground…

Love It Or Hate It

There’s no doubt that we all love to own a piece of designers’ goods. Be it handbags, shoes, accessories or clothes. Designers being designers, are supposed to be the trend setter. But very often, designers tend to let their imagination go wild to the extend of creating something that would make you either go WOW or

O_O”!!!

Why not I let you judge for yourself?

All hail to the queen of Egypt?

This outfit probably inspired by the king of fruit - durian. I would like to wear this one to sleep. I’m sure it would keep me warm during the cold night. Can you imagine me in it?

But I definitely wouldn’t want to wear an umbrella upside down. Once you fall, you might not be able to get up.

Now you can always take your bird out for a walk in the park. Just like how you would walk your dog.

How about a retro boots? Errrr… When would one ever get to wear that? Gosh! Maybe some costume party, eh?

Finally, high heel flippers for those who want to scuba dive in style! Very creative indeed!
