Smart Kids ‘07
Last weekend, I was asked to help out at APIIT Smart School booth for Smart Kids ‘07 event, PWTC. When I was told APIIT Smart School, the first thing that came into my mind was an event for kids. I wasn’t aware that there was such exhibition. It was my first time attending one, very different compared to the usual education exhibition that I’ve attended.
The place was packed with parents and their kids. There were many booth selling food too, which means, free food samples for everyone (if you’re too lazy to walk out for lunch/dinner
).

IFTC Fashion Show
Two days ago, on Thursday (12th April 2007), was IFTC very own fashion show, held at Sungai Wang Plaza. I was both nervous and excited about the event because it was my first fashion show after joining IFTC. The event was held in conjunction with the KL fashion week as there was a list of event going on for the entire two weeks. The day before the event, I managed to catch the fashion show held by Snips Academy. It was so beautiful, especially the hair do and make up.
On that day, I arrived at college at approximately 4pm and was soaking wet because it was raining heavily at that moment. So I joined my friend for a wash and blow session at Snips Academy at Level 4. I was told that the whole session will take about an hour, but I wasn’t surprised because back at Toni & Guy, it took me much longer than that. After that, I went back to college to get myself prepare for the event. Everyone else was also getting ready – changes, put on make-up and etc.

My fellow classmates & designers.

The stage at Sungai Wang.
All of us gathered at Sungai Wang at 6.30pm while the event started at 7.30pm. The first collection display was by IFTC ex-student who is now a very successful designer base in Singapore. Modern high fashion kebaya made using songket material, simply elegant. Followed by IFTC very own young designers’ collections under the few categories – casual, fashion, formal and bridal. All the outfits look beautiful on stage, worn by our lovely models. It was an event not to forget.
Following are photos of my design on stage, wore by my lovely model, Cheryl. ![]()

I also would like say a big thank you for those who came and supported the event. Hope you all enjoyed the show. ![]()

Preparation
For the past one month, I’ve been preparing for the upcoming fashion show that will be organised by IFTC. I know its kind of crazy that I’m actually doing two different things at the same time - fashion and IT. And guess what? I actually have 2 assignments which going to due in few weeks time.
Anyway, the fashion show will be held at Sungai Wang on Thursday (12th April 2007) at 7.30pm. So, if you’re around KL, do feel free to drop by. ![]()

Perodua TVC
Two weekends ago, few college mates and I did a shoot for Perodua TVC. Perodua? I actually thought the ad was for Perodua Myvi SE (Special Edition) since it was launched not too long ago. But when I was told it’s for Perodua’s new Kancil, I couldn’t believe it. Well, obviously I’m not into cars as most guys do, either do I read Paul Tan’s blog about latest automobile.
Anyway, the new replacement for Kancil is called Viva, as mentioned in Paul’s blog. The car looks a lot like Myvi, just a little smaller. I’m afraid that you got to wait for the car to launch first in order to see it. But lucky us, we get to see it before it launch.
And one of my friends already had first hand experience driving it. *Jealous*
The shoot took place at TTDI Place, right behind the old IBM building. The place is still new therefore there wasn’t any resident around that area. We were told to gather at 12pm but the shoot was delayed, as usual. I was told that the production crew had a shoot at KLCC in the morning and that they were on their way. It was 2pm then.
Most of the talents were hungry by then because it has passed their lunch hour. The catering van only arrived at 2.30pm and we only start shooting about nearly 3pm. It rained that afternoon, unlike the previous shoot when we had to sit under the hot sun whole day.

This time round, the shoot end surprisingly early. We were done by 6.30pm. We wanted to catch “Mr. Bean’s Holiday“ but unfortunately the tickets were sold out for that day. Then we went over to Manhattan Fish Market at IKANO Power Center for dinner. Every one of us was exhausted after the shoot so we ordered two large dishes to fill our hungry stomach. It was my second time at Manhattan First Market. I really enjoyed the food there.
