Miracles Do Happen
November 1st 2007 -
Last Wednesday, I went to gym and did my usual routine. Went to class and after an hour, I realised that my ring was missing. I started to panic and search every possible place, under the table, the floor. Couldn’t find it. I couldn’t even recall where I last left it, knowing that I have never taken it off my finger when I’m out. Then I told me friend about it and he accompanied me to the gym and my car to search for it. Couldn’t find it either. The whole mood changed completely. I was so worried and depressed. It was a gift from my mum for my so-called 21st birthday. It was something precious to me and nothing else could replace it. I didn’t want anything else but to find it back. Told my mum about it. She wasn’t upset but wasn’t pleased of me being so careless. I told another friend of mine about the incident. I had to cancel our meeting because I wasn’t in the mood to do anything. He told me that if God wants me to find it back, I will surely find it. I was having doubts and disbelieve that it is impossible to be found since the ring is so small.
Called my dearest drove over to accompany later that night, hoping that he could cheer me up. Feeling hopeless, I sob myself to sleep that night after saying my prayer.
Next day, I woke up earlier than usual. Couldn’t really sleep because I was having dream about me searching for my ring. But somehow, I managed to recall where I felt it. I think God must have heard my cry.
I read an overnight massages from my friend on MSN and he told me to go back and search one more time. And so I did. Arrived at the gym at 8am. The ladies’ wasn’t open yet. So went to college instead and wait till 9am. I was practically hocking on the phone and my lecturer told me to put it away. It pissed me off. Can’t blame her because she told us to work on the tutorial. I was just being emotional. At 9, I went back to the gym with my friend to search for it. Again, still no luck but something tells me not to give up hope yet. So I went to ask the management whether he know of anyone around that of what I described to him. He told me that lady is one of the cook. Took me there and asked. To my surprised, the lady was having the ring and she returned it back to me. Words couldn’t describe how I feel. I was so happy and glad to found it back. In return, I gave her a small reward as an appreciation of honesty.
Through this incident, I’ve learn never to underestimate God even though things may seem impossible at times.
Also, I am really glad to have friends who care for me. Thank you. ![]()
