M-IFW’07
December 1st 2007 -
Two (2) weeks ago, I attended the 4th Malaysia-International Fashion Week (M-IFW)’07 along with my two (2) other classmates. The highlight of the event which I wanted so much to attend was the Mifa8 finalist showcase and I actually called the organiser and asked if I need to purchase any tickets to enter. He told both reserved and standing tickets were all given out for the opening and told me to at least come for the exhibition. But guess what, a friend of mine who attended the Mifa8 finalist showcase told me there were a numbers of empty seats. I was so pissed and thought I would have at least try my luck, skip class and just attend the show. Never mind about that.
So during my college break, my classmate and I drove over to KL Convention Centre for the exhibition. Admission was free and we were given a free standing passes for the fashion show.

It was my first time attending M-IFW and I must say the overall display was pretty impressive. There were many booths displaying Malaysians famous designers work from shoes to garment and many more. There was Melinda Looi, Farah Khan, Carven Ong, Tiamo and more many.

And then there’s the fashion show. Obviously. We managed to catch a show at 2.30pm and another at 4.30pm. The first show was by Tangoo. If you have been to any of their outlets, their style are mostly towards Indian/Middle East/Western, using vibrant colours and beadings on every garment giving it the whole tango/party/wild/funky look.
The second show was by Tiamo. Tiamo is a new label for shoes, handbags and accessories, using swarovski crystal on every pieces of their products giving it the prefect finishing touch. It is definitely a must-have for anyone who wants to stands out on any occasions. The entirely show was just perfectly choreographed and every pieces of the jewellery and accessories by Tiamo were simply beeeeeeeeee-au-tiful. Not forgetting those gorgeous garments by Jonathan Cheng. I was practically falling in love with it, as the name has said it. The theme was gothic and the music they played went so well with it. It was mental rock music for the entirely show. Everything was just prefect.

That supposed to spelled “M-ifw’07″. Couldn’t capture the entire word.
