The Black & Bling Party

Two (2) weeks ago, I was invited to Malaysian Today’s Black & Bling Gala 2007, at Maison. Two (2) of my friends both won two (2) free passes to the event by submitting their details via MalaysianToday’s website. I submitted a copy as well but didn’t win any passes though. Sigh.

The event was mainly organised for college/university students, more like a prom but was held in a club instead. It was my first time going to Maison (obviously, duh! For someone who doesn’t go clubbing) and was kind of disappointed with the place because I was expecting it be nicer, bigger, better and more happening. I have heard a lot about Maison and many events were held there so I though the place was going to be awesome and all. But I was wrong.

During the event, many attractive prizes were given out during the lucky draws. Goodies bags were were give out for those who present their passes at the entry. Inside the goody bag, there were freebies (SilkyGirl products and Sloggi G-String underwear) and discount vouchers. Pretty good, I guess. Free passes + freebies. Hahaha…

I was told there was the first part of the event and we actually missed that, where Christien New and Lavin Seow were at the event giving out prizes. By the time we entered the club, Jojo Struys and Joey G were already introducing the Kings & Queens from six (6) different colleges/universities and APIIT/UCTI’s was one of them. I’m not sure how the they shortlist or vote for the King & Queen of the night and was pretty obvious that the “Caucasian” looking ones would win. And they did!

The dance floor only opened after King & Queen of the night was announced and all prizes were given out. That was around eleven (11) plus, if I’m not mistaken (wasn’t keeping track of time. Hahaha…. The music that was played was pretty good at first until it got pretty boring after many songs were repeated over and over again. Like I say, I was expecting something more from the event. Oh well, can’t complain though. It wasn’t some celebrities event whatsoever.

We bumped into few APIITians over there later that night.
