KL Ink (Tattoo Party 2)

The second KL Ink was held at Maison. Although the place is bigger compared to S.I.N, but somehow the place wasn’t pack. It either lack of publicity or the place isn’t as happening.

They did the same thing as the previous event by calling out ten (10) people from the crowd to participate in the “Best Tattoo” competition.

Each and everyone of them who came out can only choose one (1) of their favourite tattoo to feature as well as explain what is the concept of their tattoo. Well, some people did over do it by taking off their shirt when the tattoo is only on the arm. LOL! The person who got the loudest cheer from the audience wins the competition.

My friend, Khairul and his friend make it to the top 3. While Khairul’s friend walk away with the best tattoo, voted by the crowd. And I agreed with them. Too bad I didn’t managed to snap a photo of the tattoo.

Heard there will be more of these event to come. For those who have missed it. Stay tune then!

Disney’s High School Musical - The Ice Tour

It was quite fortunate that my mum received another complimentary passes from Direct Access. They are just too nice to their client. Well, they have to, else they would be out of business by now. Haha… Just kidding.

Somehow I wasn’t as excited about attending the Disney’s High School Musical: The Ice Tour as much as Disney’s Beauty & The Beast: The Broadway Musical. Probably because I’ve been to quite a few in the past and partly it’s because I have not watch neither of the movies in order to follow.

My mum couldn’t join me for the show that day because she was busy, so I invited my classmate instead.

You Get Stronger Everytime You Push Yourself

Did my second ride to Ulu Langat. This time I managed to make it up to the peak where the sign show “Selamat Datang Ke Negeri Sembilan”. Does that means I’ve reached the border of Negeri Sembilan? Haha… I don’t know. But even if I did, that sure sound like I’ve ride a long ride.

The regular Tuesday night ride is equally fun and I always look forward to it. Doesn’t matter if I have to take my butt up and drive all the way to TTDI. At the end of the day, the traveling time is just that worth it. I get a good work out as well as meeting new friends from the cycling group. Each time I take the same hill, it just get better. By pushing harder, I would eventually get strong.

And there’s the usually mamak session after the ride.

PS: Oh yeah, there was this cute British guy from the ride yesterday. Hehe… And I think he’s hot.

Me: Babe, he is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo CUTE!
Kev: Go ask for his contact la.
Me: Shy la. You go ask for his contact la then we can arrange for a photo shoot. *grin*
Kev: Nah. Girls easier to talk to guys.
Me: Eeeeeyeeeeer *shy* ……….

D.Knight - Photoshoot and Performance

Few months back, David Knight from San Jose, California emailed me CouchSurfing.com regarding his shows in KL. For those who have not heard of CouchSurfing.com, it’s a website for travelers and people around the world to interact and get to know each other. You can either host a traveler or meet up with the locals when you’re at their country.

Back to the topic.

David Knight, Californian electro-acoustic singer songwriter, a very talented guy. His style of music includes some gadgets, an acoustic guitar and his vocals. - Source from here and here.

I managed to attend few of his gigs and they were really good. His music is mind blowing and out of this world! Okay, I over exaggerated on that one. Well, if you ever check out his music, you would say it’s a little of Cold Play with more momentum. (That’s how I would define it). Feel free to check out his music on his MySpace. David was also a former singer from the band - One Day Symphony. You can check out their music at their MySpace.

This was taken on Sat 19 July - The Apartment, KLCC

This one on Fri 25 July - Acoustic Jaya @ Jaya One (with Jerome Kugan)

And this one on Wed 30 July - The Attic

Apart from that, Kev also did a photo shoot with David. It was another outdoor shoot with lighting.

KL Ink (Tattoo Party)

The first KL Ink event was held at S.I.N on July 18 (Friday). The event was one of it’s kind. It was wicked and wild! People coming in skimpy clothes, flashing their tattoos. It was really cool. Those with tattoos entered for free while the rest either pay cover charge or make early RSVP on facebook to gain free entry.

I tagged along to the event with my friend, Khairul. We were there early. The crowd only came in around 11pm. And there was a tattoo competition where people had to show off their tattoos while the crowd would cheer for their favourite contestants. I do admit there was a little favouritism among the crowd as they only cheer for the pretty chick. Oh well… It was a good experience though.

The second installment of KL Ink - Tattoo Party 2, is this Friday on the 15th August at Maison, Herirtage Row. Feel free to check it out if you’re around. But those without tattoo and would like to attend, make sure you RSVP on facebook to avoid cover charge.

Movie Passes…

Few days ago, OK! Mag called to inform me that I’ve won something from the magazine. It didn’t ring a bell at the moment till they they asked did I join the Sex and the City contest? The first thing that came into my mind was “Did I win the perfume?” because that was the main reason I entered that competition. But she mentioned two (2) movie passes instead. I was a little disappointed though as I’ve already watched the movie. But nevertheless, I could always give it away and make someone else’s day.

I’ve watch Sex and the City and I really enjoyed it. It’s about four (4) best friends sharing and going through life and relationships together in New York. It’s a love story which I think girls would enjoy but guys might find it hard to watch though. So for those girls who are planning to drag their boyfriends along, I would say better not. Hehe… Aside from that, there are lots of fashion in this movie too – shoes, handbags, dresses and more.

So I dropped by their office the next day after the phone call to pick up the passes at Boulevard. The guy who hand me the passes also gave me two (2) passes to Zohan as well! That’s like double bonus!

He: Although you didn’t win Zohan, but I’m giving it to you anyway.
Me: *shocked* Oh, okay. Thanks you!

Getting Back To Cycling

I got back my tan line, from cycling. I don’t really like it though, because it means I can’t wear shorts or sleeveless and not show the line.

- Source
Which tan line are you? Mine looks like the 3rd one.

I did a long ride at Putrajaya last weekend. It was one of the longest rides I ever done so far. Not to mention I took a little break from cycling for a couple of months and just got back recently.

I have finally give clipless pedals a try. Well, for those who do not know, this is clipless shoes. Your shoes practically clips onto the pedals while you cycle which allows you to pedal in a full circular motion allowing you to push, and pull the pedals at the same time, compared to a normal platform pedals.

Also, finally got a women specific frame which fits me perfectly. It’s a Trek 2000 WSD. I do miss my blue one.

Movie Screening: WALL-E

Disney Pixar’s WALL-E is this year most anticipating animation.

What if mankind had to leave Earth, and somebody forgot to turn the last robot off?

Academy Award®-winning writer-director Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo) and the inventive storytellers and technical geniuses at Pixar Animation Studios (The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille) transport moviegoers to a galaxy not so very far away for a new computer-animated cosmic comedy about a determined robot named WALL-E.

After hundreds of lonely years of doing what he was built for, WALL-E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) discovers a new purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE. EVE comes to realize that WALL-E has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet’s future, and races back to space to report her findings to the humans (who have been eagerly awaiting word that it is safe to return home). Meanwhile, WALL-E chases EVE across the galaxy and sets into motion one of the most exciting and imaginative comedy adventures ever brought to the big screen.

Joining WALL-E on his fantastic journey across a universe of never-before-imagined visions of the future, is a hilarious cast of characters including a pet cockroach, and a heroic team of malfunctioning misfit robots.

Filled with surprises, action, humor and heart, WALL-E was written and directed by Andrew Stanton, produced by Jim Morris, co-produced by Lindsey Collins and features original and innovative sound design by Academy Award®-winner Ben Burtt (Star Wars, the Indiana Jones series, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial).

So there you have it, folks. WALL-E opens June 27, 2008 amid some pretty fierce expectations. Can WALL-E halt the Pixar profit slide? Or will it be yet another brilliant movie that receives its due well after its theatrical release? And did Disney really drop the ball with Ratatouille?

- Source

If you enjoyed Finding Nemo and Ratatouille, you would definitely love WALL-E. He may have this cute little facial expression all the time but deep inside, he’s a robot who has feelings. In the movie, there’s a little love story in it between 2 robots. Don’t miss it!

Advertlets is giving away movie passes for FREE! For more info, please check out their website.

House Of Healin TVC

Short note:
Apologise for not blogging for quite awhile. I’ve been busy. More post coming up soon.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………..

About two (2) months ago, on a Saturday morning, I was woken up by a rather pleasant surprised. My talent agent who first got me into TVC called me and told me that one of their talents dropped out and needed a replacement. I was rather reluctant to take the job because I have my usual classes on Saturday and for normal TVC jobs, talents are required to stand by for over twelve (12) hours.

The job that he offered was an extra. The job of an extra is pretty simple. You just need to some walking and a lot of waiting. Haha! Well, that wasn’t the whole point. The point is, when I asked how much he’s offering for that role, the price was SO RIGHT, I immediately took up the offer. The offer was in fact 3 times more than my usual job.

The TVC was for a local beauty product called “House of Healin”. I wonder where did the “g” go. For the first time, the ad only features female talents that I’ve work in. Kind of interesting having to meet some pretty girls and one of them is Miss Hypertune 2008. She’s gorgeous, alright.

The shoot took place at Carrefour Ampang which is just ten (10) minutes drive from my house. Not too bad, huh? Also, this is of the very few TVC where the make-up artists do the make-up for the extra. Usually it’s just the main cast.
