Random Pics: Clouds & Skies

I went back to Malacca just after Christmas to celebrate grandma’s birthday. Kev and I drove down to Malacca for a one (1) day trip. The weather were great and the sky were beautiful that day.

Here are some random pictures taken.

Angeles City (Part 2)

Short note:
Does anyone know any make-up artists or hair stylists who may be interested to collaborate with a photographer to do shoots and at the same time wanting to build their own portfolio? Do drop me an email at celine_yap@yahoo.co.uk. Thanks!

Before traveling over to Philippines, Bart Lapers emailed some modeling agencies at Philippines to book models for the photo shoot. Initially, the plan was to use Angeles Beach Club Hotel to do the shoot, instead he also managed to get permission to use Lewis Grand Hotel to do the shoot which was really beautiful.

We met the models after lunch hour, wanted to do the shoot outdoor but due to the heavy rain, it was not possible. So we did the shoot indoor instead. At the time, most of the room were occupied but the management managed to get a deluxe room for us to do the shoot.

Kevin was the lighting technician for the shoot while Bart do the photography.

One of the model, Geri, who also run a modeling agency of her own - Amethyst Models Management, brought her make-up artist along for the shoot. And I must say, she did a wonderful job changing the look for both models. Having a make-up artist do make a big different.

While the other model, Dharls, is a full time model as well a entrepreneur who own a boutique of her own.

The management served us complimentary meals.

And I must say. It was d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!!! It was something out of the world that I’ve eaten. Can you guess what is it? It’s PORK meat! Where in Malaysia can you find pork burger? Haha…

This is how the swimming pool looks like from the balcony.

While following are some behind the scene pics from the photo shoot. The shoot lasted till 7pm in the evening and we shoot in three (3) different locations.

Angeles City (Part 1)

One month ago, my dearest and I got invited by Bart Lapers to do a collaborate shoot with him at Angeles City, Philippine.

The flight was on Friday morning so I had to skip class that day while my dearest took leave. It was indeed the first time to go to Philippine for the three (3) of us.

We flew with Air Asia and the whole journey took about four (4) hours plus.

Notice Bart’s blue’s eyes. Well, it’s not exactly blue blue though.

The culture at Philippine are rather different compared to Malaysia. They are more open minded and friendly. Probably because Angeles City is a tourist city.

Even their public transport are rather different. Can you imagine sitting two (2) big size feller in that?

The food were great too. Most of their dishes are either American or European. Their western food is nothing compared to here. Man, I miss the food over there! Of course, there are some local Asian dishes. But very different.

The American culture has a big influence in Philippine during the World War 2. So majority of them are Catholic.

Short note:
I’m tired. I’ve been staying up late for the last couple of days. Can’t wait for all the assignments submission to be over. Then I wanna go party! Anyone wanna join me?
…………………………………………………………………………………………………..

The most typical thing anyone would do whenever they go/travel new places would be taking pictures of them with the environment, object, monument, location, building, etc… whatever one is able to find or find it rather unique. You name it. It’s just one way of proving that you actually been there and those are not some pictures you took from someone’s blog or magazine. Agree?

So the pictures will usually end up looking like

or may you wanna pull off some funny/expression so it look rather interesting

or this one, a typical silhouette picture at the beach. (man, I look retarded. LOL)

How about a picture of you taken while you were minding your own business?

Have A Blessed Christmas

I read that there will be fairy decorations at MidValley and so I went there to have a look.

When I was young, I used to believe in fairy tales. I used to think they were magical creature until I grow out of it. Nevertheless, I still enjoy listening to fairy tales and once a while I would go day dreaming of being in some enchanted land where everything were beautiful and all the little fairies and unicorns would come out to the magical garden and play. Haha…

I didn’t manage to spot any fairy until I saw a bunch of fairies seated at the center court’s stage telling fairy tales to the kids.

Then, I look closer and I spotted small little fairies on the trees disguised in red flowers. They were really small.

Anyway, wishing everyone a blessed Christmas and happy holiday! Have a blessed and magical one.

With love,
Celine

I Wanna Go On A Holiday!

It’s already December! Wow, time flies. I started my second year of Degree in January and now I’m almost done. Next will be my final year and I’m done with IT! Really can’t wait! Anyway, I will be having approximately two (2) months of holidays before I start my final year. Mum was thinking of going to Singapore for Christmas, probably drive down over weekend. I’ve heard from a lot of people that Singapore is a nice place to go for Christmas with beautiful Christmas decorations all over the place. Here we can only see it at Sunway.

Anyway, as we all know, making hotel reservations during peak season is guaranteed going to be expensive and not forgetting high chances of not getting a room at all. I was checking out Hotel Reservations and found out that they offers a rather competitively low rates with great discounts for 3-5 stars hotels in Singapore (and other world wide destination too ). Let’s not talk about currency conversion because it obviously going to kill you. Anyway, I guess for us the quality of the facilities doesn’t really matter to us as long as we have a nice comfort place to stay. My last stay in Singapore was at Pan Pacific. Believe me, it was superb!

Probably this time round I may consider Copthorne Orchid Hotel which offers a very good bargain of less than 100USD!

Hey, maybe you should check out their offers too and try not to make any late bookings because you don’t want to get disappointed.

Happy holidays guys!

Weekend At Cameron Highlands

Three (3) weekends ago, my dearest had a wedding assignment at The Lakehouse, Cameron Highlands. So I took the opportunity to enjoy my weekend up at Cameron Highlands. I remember the last time I went there was years ago, back when I was in high school.

The journey to Cameron Highlands was approximately two (2) and a half (1/2) hours, up the winding road. The weather was slightly colder compared to Genting Highlands. It’s a place where tea plantation, vegetables and strawberries grows. Where the air you breathe is comparatively fresher. Haha…

We stayed a night at Heritage Hotel which cost only RM168 with breakfast for 2, pretty reasonable price for a three (3) stars hotel.

Well, there’s nothing much you can do there except hiking and sight seeing as far as I know. Other than that, the life up there is pretty quiet and slow. Not a place that I would want to live for months. Even traveling up the winding road is enough to make me sick.

Chinese New Year At Malacca

Like every other Chinese New Year, my family would drive down to Malacca to spend a week at my grandparents’ place. A little village far away from town, called “Tanjung Kling”. Malacca is a tourist attraction place, known for its Baba and Nyonya heritage and rich history. Life in Malacca is rather quiet and slow. A tranquil place for one to getaway and explores oneself. To me, Malacca can be a pretty “boring” place because I’m more of a city person. There’s not much of entertainment besides the usual pubs and shopping mall which can only be found in Malacca town. Not where my grandparents live though.

Anyway, my family drove down to Malacca on Chinese New Year eve and we spent 2 nights at Everly Resort Hotel (formally known as Reveria Bay Resort). A lovely resort but unfortunately the place was not well maintained.

That evening, we went to Jonker Street for countdown. There was lion dance performance and karaoke but no fireworks. Jonker’s Street, once the richman’s street is now a living proof of Malacca’s rich baba-nyonya heritage. The buildings are immaculately constructed with elaborate carvings on its pillars and walls. The street is also famous for its antique shops. Source

This year we had “Yee Sang”, which is something we don’t usually have.

My dearest drove down to Malacca on the next day. We went sight seeing and tour around Malacca snapping photos like any other tourists. Check out his pics here.

And this is my nephew. He’s only 10 months old.
