Advertlets Bloggers Paintball Tournament

Two (2) weeks ago, I joined some bloggers for a paintball tournament at Astaka Sports Center, Petaling Jaya. Advertlets is the official Online Partner for the most prominent paintball league in Malaysia, the Malaysian National Paintball League (MY-NPL) in year 2009!

Since the event was organised by Advertlets, registration fee was ONLY Rm10 for bloggers which inclusive of paintball marker rental fully equipped and paintball pellet. Cheap, isn’t it? So I thought, why not just give it a try since it will only cost me RM10 instead of RM90 and I’ve always wanting to try out paintball.

Those are called goggles.

This is how the battle field looks like. Each of the those thingy have their own unique names, like “snake”, “temple” and the rest I can’t really recall.

Those are called the paintball marker and the socks covering the barrel are called barrel socks. Like, duh!

The Malaysian Paintball Academy (MAPAAC).

Before the game begin, Mr. Wong, the instructor gave a briefing on the safety, rules and regulation of the game as well as how use the paintball marker.

Most of the bloggers that came for the event were first timer including me. Of course, there are those who are experience players who join the Malaysian National Paintball League (MY-NPL).

The attire recommended were long sleeves  and pants, so I wore my orange Nickelodeon’s t-shirt which was the only long sleeves t-shirt that I have. And apparently that there should not be any orange on the player shirt. Luckily they wasn’t strict with the rules.

This is a picture of us on the battle field. Can you spot me in orange?

This is our team - Yakuza. Left to right - L-R: Uncle Z (En. Zahari), EVo, myself, Marcus and Aizuddin

Left to right: Ashley Teng (camera lady of the day), EVo, Uncle Z (En. Zahari), Marcus, myself, Aizuddin, and Josh Lim.

Most of the player in our team have either no or minimal experience in playing paintball and it quite amazing that we managed to win 1st runner up for the overall game. As being said here, the top 3 winning teams will be sponsored for their registration fees for the 5 rounds of MY-NPL 2009 and stand a chance to win attractive prizes in the MY-NPL! So our team was qualified to play for MY-NPL. But last minutes I decided to pull out due to other commitments.

I did enjoyed paintball, it was fun shooting people. But it obviously wasn’t fun being shot by others. At the end of the game, I can home having several bruises and one severe injury on my knuckle. I got shot on the knuckle just before the last game and it hurt so bad till my right hand were shaking in pain. Luckily Marcus lend me his pair of gloves for the last game else I might not be able to survive.

.

Well, they don’t call it paintball for nothing, right?

Some Things Just Have To Go

Mum used to complain about me not getting rid of my old shoes. One of the few reasons why I kept them for so long was because they were very comfortable to wear and I didn’t had another other comfortable shoes which I could wear for hours.

So I finally got rid of them and this gave me more reason to go shopping for new pair of shoes to replace them. And so I did.

Even in life, we got to learn to let go of the old and move on (and change) to something new. Be it bad habits, things that we have kept since childhood, or event things we do not used. When I was a kid, I used to hold on to this blanket of mine for years until it got torn into pieces and I had to throw it away. There was also a teddy bear. It has sentimental value, you know. Well, that was years ago.

My Chinese school teacher once told me that, every festive New Year, people buy new clothes (it’s not a must must la, but they say it’s better) to welcome the New Year. I’m sure some of you have of this. I personally do not follow any of those ritual but I sure wouldn’t mind getting something new each year. Or even each day or each month. LOL! Sigh. Girls just love to shop. *grin*

Anyway… Have you ever kept/hold on to something which you find it hard to let go/get rid?

An Unfinished Business

Short note:
Have you ever have big dreams and tried so hard to get there, but then you’re still so far away from it? I DO! Damn! If only fairy godmother do exist, then I will be will be a princess overnight! LOL! (It’s a joke, by the way)
…………………………………………………………………………………………………..

At least I had enough rest after having to burn midnight oil for the last couple of days.

I spend my Saturday afternoon working on my little project that I’ve left untouched for couple of weeks since the last fashion show. Why? First of all, my dress got rejected because my principle said the cloth was rather too white for bridal? Secondly, I make a huge mistake on the draping which did not turn out as what I wanted (as well as my principle). So, I decided to aboard the project and not take part in the show, just to concentrate on my assignments. It was a critical period for me as I was rushing to complete my PSF that time. By looking back, if I were to redo the whole dress again, I guess I may not have given my best back then. It could have been a missed opportunity. But at this moment, my degree still come first. You probably would ask, why did I decided to take up two (2) different majors in the first place? Well, back then I thought I was able to handle it. Do I feel regret? Not really. Because it served as a backup plan for me after I graduate.

Anyway, this is how the draping supposed to look. The draping itself took me over two (2) weeks to complete because I didn’t have a mannequin back then.

I wasted two (2) meters of chiffon just for that draping. No one say studying fashion is cheap. The material is already the killer!

A week before the fashion show, I rip off the chiffon and was hoping to start over again. But I abandon the project due to my assignments and thought I would just finish it on my own instead during my free time. More like, treating it as my little project instead.

In total, I bought six (6) meters of soft net which cost me close to a hundred and two (2) and a half (1/2) meters of dutches satin which cost RM80/meter. The initial plan was to use the soft net as a long tail for the bridal dress.

But now, I have better use for the soft net. The white net alone did not compliment the dress. So I had to spend a little more money to add yellow and orange net to go along with it. Sigh. More $$!

This small portion of handwork took me nearly four (4 hours)! And I probably need another twenty one (21) hours more to complete the whole dress (according to my rough estimation).

I Love The New Colour

What do you think?

It’s red violet, by the way.

Ride Comes To Crashing End

Small note:
I have not been able to go online for the couple of days due to my phone line. It probably got strike by lightning or so during the rain. And I thought my modem was faulty and went to buy a new one.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………..

I did my ride as usual on Sunday and this is what happened…

Cel and Kev went up the hill to have ride at Janda Baik
Cel fell down and injured herself
And Kev had to fetch her to the hospital.

Okay, we did the usual ride from Hospital Orang Asli to Janda Baik. And I was hoping to catch my McD Breakfast before 11am. I thought it was alright to go down the hill as fast as Kev did. I was going way too fast while taking cornering and I actually thought I puncture my tires. I stopped and check then continue to ride on. Didn’t realised that the road was slippery and…

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang!

Everything happened in a split of second and I all I remember was I fell and it FREAKY HURT till bit! Okay, I’m a girl. So I have the right to be a woosie. Mind me. The were blood and sand all over me and I thought the damage was pretty serious. I was pretty much cursing in pain all the way. And on my mind, I thought “there goes my McD breakfast. *Cry cry cry*”. So much for chasing time, huh? And I seriously thank God for helmet, else I probably have injure my head. And thank God that I’m still alive!

Luckily there were some people around that stopped by during the scene. I guess I must have stopped traffic that time. There were two (2) ladies who helped to wiped my wound with water and tissue. As they were doing that, I was screaming in pain. I can’t remember the last time I ever felt this pain before. Probably many many years ago.

Kev managed to get a lift from a guy to get his car at the Hospital Orang Asli. While a couple drove me to the nearest clinic, there were another guy who was there that watched over our bikes.

When we arrived at the clinic, no one was there. So the couple took me to their place where they clean me up with water. The wound was still fresh and having to pour water to clear off the sand was really painful.

DAMAGE:
20th April 2008
Distance: 37km
Ride Time: 2hr 16min
Avg Speed:16.2km/h
Max Speed: 53.3km/h

When the clinic opened, we walked over. At the clinic, the nurse gave me a jab and washes my wounds. And guess what? The total bill was only RM1!!!!!! Probably it’s a government clinic.

Of course, later I went to Pantai Hospital to take an x-ray just to be sure that I didn’t break any bones because I was having problem moving my right fingers. The x-ray show no serious injuries. Guess it’s just a little swollen. And the bill came up to RM131.90!!!!!

Didn’t occur to me how I managed to get these on my chest. There was also a long laceration very close to my nipple. I’m serious!

This is a right palm. It’s a little swollen. As for now, I won’t be able to carry heavy objects till the wound is fully closed.

The rest was the least of my concern. Except for the lacerations on my FACE!!!!!!!!!!

Will be popping pills for the next few days. Oh, that also includes medicine from my dentist. My wisdom tooth is another of my worry which gonna hurt like crap!!!!!!

Since after that incident, Kev been telling me these: “The image in my mind of you lying motionless on the road and groaning in pain and bleeding still haunts me.”

I guess I won’t be riding for awhile, till I am full recovered.

PS: From the pics I really look as if I got abuse or something. LOL

My Suicide Attempt

I was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo depress for whatever reason and I thought it was probably the end of the world for me.

So I attempt to kill myself.

Have A Blessed Year 2008!

- Post Edited -

Finally, we have just closed another chapter of our life in year 2007 and now a New Year has just began. A New Year means making new resolutions, new goals and more things to achieve. I’m sure everyone has their own New Year resolution but not many are able to keep it as time goes by. Hopefully I am able to fulfill mine and here are my Year 2008 resolutions… (Listed in random order)

1. To slim down and tone up

I had gained some weight over the months and wish to get back in shape. I know some of you may think that shouldn’t lose anymore weight. It’s not the weight that matters to me, but my overall shape. You can be slim and yet be heavy because of your body mass.

2. To get at least second upper for Degree

Well, this Degree may or may not be useful to me in future because I’m considering switching my major to fashion design. Nevertheless, it’s good to always aim high.

3. Increase my investment

Who doesn’t want to have more investment? Robert Kiyosaki mentioned in his book that we should increase our assets and not our liabilities.

4. Control my spending (especially when it’s not necessary)

All the guys know that we girls like to spend spend spend even though if it not necessary. For us girls, one is never enough. So, I should learn not to spend unnecessarily.

5. Spend more time reading

It’s been years since I picked up a book and read. Most of the time I doze off after few pages but recently I managed to finished a book which I left untouched for ages and it feels good to finish a book. I want to read more!!!

6. Broaden my network of friends

It’s good to make new friends and get new contacts.

7. Lend a hand to those who would need my help

It makes you feel really good knowing that you have helped someone. But never let anyone take advantage of you.

8. To have better time management

I have a habit of being late and dilly-dally. It’s got nothing to do with being Malaysian. It’s time management!

9. To gain more knowledge

It’s always good to learn new things. You have nothing to lose but to gain. So always be willing to learn.

10. To spend more time with my family members and friends

Spending time with families and friends are very important because it helps you to create a bond between them.

11. To become a stronger/fitter cyclist

Since I started cycling, I would like to excel in it. Also to tone up by cycling.

What are your resolutions for year 2008?

I would also like to wish everyone a blessed New Year, may it bring happiness and prosperity to you and your family. Have a wonderful and fantastic year 2008! God bless!

With love and kisses,
Celine

Belated 5th Anniversary

Last Friday, my dearest and I celebrated our belated 5th Anniversary at Victoria Station. The event was three (3) weeks ago but since I was working that weekend, so we decided to postpone it. It’s been many years since both of us last ate at Victoria Station. Mine was ages ago. Victoria Station is known for their beef and lamb steak.

The branch in Ampang has a train-like interior.

This is escargot. I know it’s snail but it is one of my favourite appetizer dish and it is delicious and also pricey too.

I ordered chicken with barbecue source.

While my dearest ordered Sirloin Steak (not sure whether I got it right or not).

We had a wonderful five (5) years together and more to come. Love you, dearest. *Muacks*
