My first attempt at still life photography and studio lighting with Kev’s assistant on the lighting.

Shot with Canon EOS 5D with 85mm f1.8. ISO 100 1/125 f2.2.

Sorry, there’s no behind-the-scene for this one because I forgotten to take a picture of the setup.

D.Knight - Photoshoot and Performance

Few months back, David Knight from San Jose, California emailed me CouchSurfing.com regarding his shows in KL. For those who have not heard of CouchSurfing.com, it’s a website for travelers and people around the world to interact and get to know each other. You can either host a traveler or meet up with the locals when you’re at their country.

Back to the topic.

David Knight, Californian electro-acoustic singer songwriter, a very talented guy. His style of music includes some gadgets, an acoustic guitar and his vocals. - Source from here and here.

I managed to attend few of his gigs and they were really good. His music is mind blowing and out of this world! Okay, I over exaggerated on that one. Well, if you ever check out his music, you would say it’s a little of Cold Play with more momentum. (That’s how I would define it). Feel free to check out his music on his MySpace. David was also a former singer from the band - One Day Symphony. You can check out their music at their MySpace.

This was taken on Sat 19 July - The Apartment, KLCC

This one on Fri 25 July - Acoustic Jaya @ Jaya One (with Jerome Kugan)

And this one on Wed 30 July - The Attic

Apart from that, Kev also did a photo shoot with David. It was another outdoor shoot with lighting.

Angeles City (Part 2)

Short note:
Does anyone know any make-up artists or hair stylists who may be interested to collaborate with a photographer to do shoots and at the same time wanting to build their own portfolio? Do drop me an email at celine_yap@yahoo.co.uk. Thanks!

Before traveling over to Philippines, Bart Lapers emailed some modeling agencies at Philippines to book models for the photo shoot. Initially, the plan was to use Angeles Beach Club Hotel to do the shoot, instead he also managed to get permission to use Lewis Grand Hotel to do the shoot which was really beautiful.

We met the models after lunch hour, wanted to do the shoot outdoor but due to the heavy rain, it was not possible. So we did the shoot indoor instead. At the time, most of the room were occupied but the management managed to get a deluxe room for us to do the shoot.

Kevin was the lighting technician for the shoot while Bart do the photography.

One of the model, Geri, who also run a modeling agency of her own - Amethyst Models Management, brought her make-up artist along for the shoot. And I must say, she did a wonderful job changing the look for both models. Having a make-up artist do make a big different.

While the other model, Dharls, is a full time model as well a entrepreneur who own a boutique of her own.

The management served us complimentary meals.

And I must say. It was d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!!! It was something out of the world that I’ve eaten. Can you guess what is it? It’s PORK meat! Where in Malaysia can you find pork burger? Haha…

This is how the swimming pool looks like from the balcony.

While following are some behind the scene pics from the photo shoot. The shoot lasted till 7pm in the evening and we shoot in three (3) different locations.

Photoshoot: Evon T

Short note:
Do you believe in other’s prediction? It can be really scary if their prediction do come to past. Ever thought world end would be so near? There’s still so many things that I would want to do and achieve, such as travel the world, get married and have kids. Why oh why…

Some time back, my dearest had a collaborative shoot with Macdude from Autodetailer. Mac’s clients mostly own big cars. While for this case, he managed to arrange a shoot to use his client’s Ducati 1098S. On the other hand, my dearest managed to get Evon to model with the superbike. Wow! How cool is that?

The was another other superbike at Mac’s garage - BMW Boxercup R1100S. HOT!

There was this corset that I’ve made for myself. My dearest thought it would be a good idea to get Evon to model in it. But turned out that the corset was too small for her. Well, I made it for myself, so it gonna be my size, right?

Nevertheless, Evon managed to fit in it because the corset was adjustable at the back. And she looks hot in it!

I must say, Evon is really easy to work with and certainly a versatile model. My dearest has worked with her a couple of times before this shoot.

Man! I look so short standing beside Evon. She’s over 170cm, by the way.

PS: The price of the Ducati is about the same as a Totoya Camry. Approximately RM160k for one.

Snapshots From Malaysian Dream Girl Finale

Short note:
Do you agree that no matter how carefree a guy may be, there’s still a little of “vain pot” in him?
…………………………………………………………………………………………………..

This is a rather late post. And I really meant LATE post. Oh well…

Ringo invited me to attend the MDG finale that afternoon and I brought my dearest along to snap some photos as well as to anticipate the winner. Well, I’ve have been following the MDG ever since the beginning of the show. Every time I sat in front of the laptop to download the videos, my dearest would complained as he thinks the show is rather boring. Can’t blame him, it’s a girl thing. So he wouldn’t understand. I was more interested in watching the making of the photo shoots than anything else. Of course, the drama was also interesting.

Anyway, following are some snapshots from the finale.

For those who are interested to know more about the MDGs. Here are their blogs: Cindy, Adeline, Hanis, Ringo, Jay and Fiqa.

** The snapshots were taken using a Canon 5D.

Photoshoot With Aaron

During Deepavali holiday, I arranged a photo session with Aaron and photography done by my dearest. I know it’s been a loooooong time since we last shoot a male model. If you ask me or everyone else, they would definitely tell you that they prefer to look at a female model over male model. It’s pretty normal. That’s the same reason why we hardly shoot male model in the first place, unless anyone of you know of any potential, good looking male models that are willing to do studio/artistry shoots, feel free to submit their portfolio or pictures to me Females are welcome too.

Photos can be found at Kevin’s website

Special Effects

For those who own a Mac or have used it before will know that Mac have this really cool Photo Booth Software that allows you take pictures with special effects that looks like “photoshop-ed”.

My friend and I were helping out at the some kid exhibition at Midvalley the other day. The traffic was rather slow because it was a Friday evening and how many people would actually go to that mall during that time? He was playing with one of the staff’s kid, making funny faces in front of the Mac’s camera. Then later we were camwhoring instead.

Random Pic - Bag

I love my new hobo bag from Liz Claiborne. This is something similar to what I found on their website except mine is smaller.

I really love how my dearest photographed it. With kick lights highlighting the bottom and side.

** Photography by Kevin.

Random Pic - Poodle

Few weeks back, I decided to give my little poodle (a.k.a. my little lamb) a hair cut because his fur was long and messy, and tend to get all tangled up easily. So I shave him short. Not bald.

Random pic - New Style

My dearest was trying out his new Canon wireless E-TTL flash.
