Putrajaya Critical Mass

Every last Friday of the month, there will be a critical mass ride at Putrajaya. In the last two (2) rides, over 100 riders joined.

Two (2) Fridays ago, me and my usual group joined the Putrajaya Critical Mass for the very first time. I personally have not seen so many cyclists gather for one ride before. The reason why the ride was brought forward one (1) week before was due to Merdeka celebration the following week as many may be away for holiday, etc.

Since it was a slow ride, some even come with their families and kids. Such an inspiration.

Date: 22 August 2008
Venue: Restoran Darussalam Presint 9 (Mamak Double Trouble)
Meeting time: 9.00 PM SHARP SHARP!
Ride time: 9.30 PM
Distance: About 20km
Ride speed: 15-25km/h

For more photos and write-ups of the ride, view here, here, here and here.

You Get Stronger Everytime You Push Yourself

Did my second ride to Ulu Langat. This time I managed to make it up to the peak where the sign show “Selamat Datang Ke Negeri Sembilan”. Does that means I’ve reached the border of Negeri Sembilan? Haha… I don’t know. But even if I did, that sure sound like I’ve ride a long ride.

The regular Tuesday night ride is equally fun and I always look forward to it. Doesn’t matter if I have to take my butt up and drive all the way to TTDI. At the end of the day, the traveling time is just that worth it. I get a good work out as well as meeting new friends from the cycling group. Each time I take the same hill, it just get better. By pushing harder, I would eventually get strong.

And there’s the usually mamak session after the ride.

PS: Oh yeah, there was this cute British guy from the ride yesterday. Hehe… And I think he’s hot.

Me: Babe, he is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo CUTE!
Kev: Go ask for his contact la.
Me: Shy la. You go ask for his contact la then we can arrange for a photo shoot. *grin*
Kev: Nah. Girls easier to talk to guys.
Me: Eeeeeyeeeeer *shy* ……….

Getting Back To Cycling

I got back my tan line, from cycling. I don’t really like it though, because it means I can’t wear shorts or sleeveless and not show the line.

Which tan line are you? Mine looks like the 3rd one.

I did a long ride at Putrajaya last weekend. It was one of the longest rides I ever done so far. Not to mention I took a little break from cycling for a couple of months and just got back recently.

I have finally give clipless pedals a try. Well, for those who do not know, this is clipless shoes. Your shoes practically clips onto the pedals while you cycle which allows you to pedal in a full circular motion allowing you to push, and pull the pedals at the same time, compared to a normal platform pedals.

Also, finally got a women specific frame which fits me perfectly. It’s a Trek 2000 WSD. I do miss my blue one.

Ride With PCC At Putrajaya

Small note:
It’s alright one week since the accident. I would say I’m 95% recovered except for the slight pain on my right hand and wounds (that’s minor actually since there’s weren’t any major cuts. Thank God!).

Oh yeah. I just got my hair coloured! Initially, I wanted to go black but my friend recommended red-violet instead. Will post up pics soon. And I’m telling you, I’m loving this new colour! Just hope I don’t get into trouble with any of the APIIT staff. LOL. (Only APIITians will understand what I am saying here )
…………………………………………………………………………………………………..

I joined the PCC night ride two (2) Thursday ago. It was the same week before the accident happened.

Personally, I never liked riding in groups. One reason is because I don’t like people to wait for me, knowing that I’m not a fast rider. But Kev always tells me that it’s okay to be slow because different people ride at different speed. But still…

My Sunburn Got More Obvious

Had a short ride this time, due to the hot weather. We were riding at Putrajaya and there weren’t much shades compared to Janda Baik and Genting Sempah.

No matter how much sun block I applied, I’ll still get sun burn. Well, prevention is better than cure, right? But it’s alright. I shall call it, my invisible pants! LOL. Haha…

Okay, it’s ugly actually. So I’ll need to apply more whitening cream over the weekdays.

A Great Long Ride

My dearest got me another bike. This one is a hottie! It’s blue and it’s Trek 1500 in Discovery Channel team colors

And I wore my new Oakey shades for the first time for the ride. The purpose of getting cycling shades is mainly for protection. My shades may be on the oversize side, but don’t know how huge bug managed to fly in. Luckily it didn’t go into my eye like the last time. I’m totally serious!

The road along Janda Baik had a “Ketua Kampung” sign hanging outside the village. Pretty interesting.

This time round we had two (2) new friends who tag along for the ride.

And unfortunately both of them puncture their tires once!

It was the best ride I had so far. I love the hills! Looking forward to more. Man, I love cycling! It’s so much better than going to the gym. Honestly, it’s as good as paying for a gym membership and you get to workout for life!
